In the event the oil filter becomes clogged with dirt and debris, the bypass valve will open, allowing oil to flow back into the engine quickly. Our OE FIX oil filter bypass valve is available separately, enabling you to replace only the failed original valve, instead of the entire assembly, saving time, money and labor. Constructed of quality materials, the Dorman Engine Oil Filter Bypass Valve is designed to provide a longer service life and includes a plastic valve and spring to assist with installation.
